A Lifetime! http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=47 Sat, 01 Sep 2012 00:00:52 +0000 http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=47 You would think after 36 years of marriage one would have it figured out. It is still a work in progress! It is a union between strangers who become one in God’s sight at the altar wondering what that is supposed to look like in the real world…

Then it begins every distraction the world has to offer is thrown your way, pride, pain, frustration, confusion, financial difficulties, emotional attachments, fear, failure, insanity and futility…

Through it all if you don’t lose sight of the fact that it was the Lord who brought you together for the purpose growing YOU to serve HIM, and if you are willing to allow your flesh to die daily, then slowly but surely you will not only grow closer to God, you will also grow closer to one another.

You become a mate, a partner, a friend and a joy! You through a miracle of God become selfless, available, and a person that your mate will hate to see leave in the morning and look forward to see returning home in the evening.

You become a soft place to land. You will have become someone who can be still and listen, without trying to fix it or judge it!

You will have become one who is able to say ouch when hurt, without being aggressive. You will have become someone who will allow your mate to have an opinion, which differs from your own.

In other words, there will be more of God showing through, and less of you!

Slow to anger.
Quick to forgive.
Quick to love.

When you have had a few close encounters with death along the way, priorities become a little clearer and more easily defined.

Less of me Lord Jesus and way more of You!

Why Me Lord? http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=102 Wed, 01 Aug 2012 04:00:11 +0000 http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=102 I have heard it preached recently that if you don’t like the situation you are in either due to illness, job loss, relational disasters, or financial set backs the reason for this is that you don’t give enough, pray enough or have enough faith, and I believe that all of these things must be considered. However before I jump into that place head first I must first ascertain the motive of the person speaking. Is there a hidden agenda behind these truths of the word, or are they being brought up as a part of the whole picture for your consideration.

One might say, “that sounds pretty inclusive to me.” However we must understand that there are other areas of consideration before we jump to any conclusion. The Bible is a group of 66 books filled with wonderful information and it is the only book that lives because of its inspired author, The Holy Spirit. If there is a hidden agenda harbored by the conveyor of the word it will come forth slightly eschewed leaning toward that particular teacher and what he/she would like the end result to be.

There indeed might be other reasons for the aforementioned circumstances or situations. I simply lay them out for your consideration before you make that huge financial investment prompted by a hard hitting, well rehearsed, eloquently displayed emotional plea designed from beginning to end to move you into such an emotional frenzy that you want to empty out your bank account to buy God’s blessings and to get you out of your situation and into financial, emotional and spiritual bliss offered by the one who seems to have all the answers to life’s most difficult problems.

Job was a man who was blameless and upright: “There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who [reverently] feared God and abstained from and shunned evil [because it was wrong].” (Job 1:1)

Sometimes the Lord allows trial and tribulation to come upon His most cherished children to teach them something that could not be otherwise learned. Job had no problem giving, praying or having faith for himself or his children. Giving, praying and having faith are necessary components for a faith filled walk, however there are times when standing is what the Lord is requiring of His children. Sometimes you cannot buy, praise, or pray yourself out of a situation when God simply needs His children to make a decision to trust, that He is in control and He will bring you out after you have been refined in His holy refining fire.

I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. (Revelation 3:18)

There are times when we become so frustrated because of the trial and tribulation, that we would do anything that even smacks of relief, and so we might even give what we don’t have or become worked up by a master salesman who prey on the desperate and needy to fill his/her pockets with the faith hope and dreams of those who franticly seek away out.

These ministers have learned how to package a testimony and tell a wonderful story of success, and fulfillment by truncating the word glossing over the real truth and driving home those truths that would inspire giving. God knows the intent of the heart and they get away with nothing. They may gain wealth and what appears to be success, but the God of all truth addresses this very thing in His word.

The Lust for Money

These are the things I want you to teach and preach. If you have leaders there who teach otherwise, who refuse the solid words of our Master Jesus and this godly instruction, tag them for what they are: ignorant windbags who infect the air with germs of envy, controversy, bad-mouthing, suspicious rumors. Eventually there’s an epidemic of backstabbing, and truth is but a distant memory. They think religion is a way to make a fast buck. (I Timothy 6:2-5)

I do believe that Christians should be prosperous. I do believe that the wealth of this wicked world will be placed in the bosom of the righteous. I also believe that God’s timing is perfect and to each of his children is appointed a time for everything under the sun. Give, pray, praise and have faith and most importantly stand and trust when you have done all you can do, knowing that the Lord loves you and He will see you through every trail and tribulation. Be very weary of those who try to create an urgency to hear from God concerning how much money to pour into their pockets. Take a moment to get out of the emotional state that you have been worked into, step back and away so that you know that it is really God leading you and not the frenzy of one who is skilled at creating an atmosphere of smoke and mirrors who would lead you away from what God has called for you to do.

I was in sales and sales management for twenty years and I can appreciate watching a master salesman setting his customers up for the hard close. Making their heads bounce up and down in consent several times before they create the urgency to sign the dotted line NOW! NOW! NOW! Don’t take your time to hear from God, I will direct you to hear from God in my timing! The only thinking I want you to do right now is not IF you should give but How much! I have taught salesmanship and a good salesman is taught to close hard and often, create urgency and leave no doubt that the product works every time.

I have a rule of thumb concerning emotions: Actions made at the height of any emotion whether it be anger, lust, hysterics, or spiritual frenzy are most often regretted in the light of day, and calm reflection.

I pray that this has helped you.

Blessings,

Pastor Jack

Deliverance from Homosexuality http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=99 Sun, 01 Jul 2012 04:00:42 +0000 http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=99 In light of the most recent declarations of moral failures in the leadership of some mega churches, it is time for those ministries who claim to be houses of inner Healing and Restoration to step forward. We are one of those ministries, who believe that there is total deliverance from this condition. We do not shoot the Christian wounded. We are confidential and have ministered to several who have had a problem with sexual perversion and homosexuality.

The reasons for this condition are so varied that it might seem hopeless. You may have even sought help for this affliction that has driven you since an early age, but God’s promise for healing and deliverance is faithful and true.

We invite those of you who are looking for a way out of this lifestyle to come and allow us to minister to you. Homosexuality, like any addiction, is a symptom that has become the problem. There is a bitter root that has driven you to this lifestyle, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit there is healing. There is no condemnation in Jesus Christ. We do not hate the person, we simply hate the sin.

There may be more than one cause for this condition. I will list several that we have seen over the past 21 years.

  • The first thing we look at is a generational curse passed down to the third and the fourth generation. If the propensity for alcohol and drug addiction can be passed down through DNA, other addictions can be passed down as well.
  • We have found that in some cases when there was an abortion or miscarriage of the opposite sex before you were born, there might have been a deep desire of the parents to replace the sex that was lost and your spirit experiencing this desire from your parents even while you were still in the womb, wanted to give them what they so badly needed, and became sexually confused, even before your brain was formed. Job 32:8 God breathes our spirit into us with understanding. Even before our brain is formed we experience the profound emotions and feeling of our parents.
  • If one of our parents has a profound desire for one sex over the other, this desire will be transmitted into the spirit of the unborn child creating within that child’s spirit a striving to be what the parent is looking for and sexual confusion can occur. i.e., tomboy in a girl, effeminate behavior in a boy.
  • Through immoral and perverse sexual acts of the parents, i.e., rape, profound sexual immorality, abuse, prostitution, pain etc. can provide an environment for sexual confusion.
  • Same sex molestation at a very young age (even before we are cognitive of our surroundings) can cause sexual confusion.
  • As we reach puberty if we have same sex sexual encounters, this can also be a contributing factor.
  • Fear of rejection by the opposite sex can influence our direction and decisions concerning sexuality.
  • Feelings of abandonment, rejection, rebellion, defiance, rage , hate, and deep self-hate can open the door to this oppression, depression and demonic infiltration and control.

The bottom line is that this lifestyle ultimately is a choice. We may have an addictive personality, but it is when we give into that addiction that it controls our lives.

We offer a safe place for Inner Healing and Deliverance. Feel free to contact us today.

Other organizations that are involved in deliverance from this lifestyle include: Exodus International (with chapters in many countries); Desert Stream Ministries, led by Andy Comiskey; Christian Healing Ministries, founded by Francis and Judith MacNutt; Mastering Life Ministries, led by David Kyle Foster; Witness for the World, led by Darryl Foster; John Sanford’s Elijah House; or Peter Horrobin’s Ellel Ministries

Inner Healing & Deliverance http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=95 Fri, 01 Jun 2012 04:00:58 +0000 http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=95 Thank you for joining me for a few thought provoking words…

Inner healing is incomplete without deliverance. There must be a good balance of both. I know that there are some folks who don’t think that a Christian can have an evil spirit within them, because they say that when we invite Jesus into our hearts our spirits are transformed and they would be right, however our minds are not changed even though our spirits are.

The two things that God will not do are #1 override our will and #2 He will not forgive us in areas where we have not forgiven. If you see a tie-dyed shirt dipped in the blood of Jesus all tied up in knots it looks completely covered in the blood, but once the knots are untied you can see all those areas that were not covered in the blood.

The knots represent the unbelieving unregenerate areas of our heart. Those blank spaces where the blood of Jesus couldn’t get to are those areas of our heart where we couldn’t or wouldn’t forgive those who harmed us, because Jesus gave us free will and He said in Matthew 6:14-15 that He will not forgive us in those areas where we have not forgiven. Where ever the Blood of Jesus isn’t anything else can be.

Paul said in I Corinthians 4:4; I am not conscious of anything against myself, and I feel blameless; but I am not vindicated and acquitted before God on that account. It is the Lord [Himself] Who examines and judges me.

Paul said that we are not acquitted for our hidden sin. I thought because I was so analytical that I could know myself better than anyone else. I found out how foolish that kind of thinking can be. We wear so many masks that we can even fool ourselves, or simply justify what we say, do, and think.

When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead He could have commanded his burial clothing to fall off of him, after all if Jesus could waken a dead man after 4 days He could most certainly command his death garb to fall off of him, but instead He said someone remove his burial clothes. Jesus created us to need one another, so that we can help our brother remove the death rags we have become so used to wearing that we are no longer aware that we still have them on. It would be like going to a pig farm, when we first arrive we doubt if we will ever get used to that terrible smell, but once we stay there for an hour or two we are no longer aware that there is a smell, until we leave the farm and re-enter society and watch the noses of the people who’s space we invade. We are no longer aware of the odor, but everyone else is. It’s the same with that hidden sin. An anointed man or woman of God can see in us what we cannot see in ourselves. Put pride aside and let someone you trust take a look.

One more thought…

I pray that you come to a place in your life that people won’t play such a big role. You will love them where ever they are and understand that we all have feet of clay and given the right circumstance and pressure we will all succumb to it, to one degree or another. The consistent thing in this life is the predictable inconsistency of people.

I have learned to smile at it and focus on the perfection and faithfulness of our Lord. If we stay before Him through prayer and praise, everything has a way of working out. When I am the most overwhelmed and apprehensive I can count on laying before the Lord and praising and worshipping to the exclusion of every worry, and the miraculous takes place; I get out of myself, resting in His arms and He fights my battles for me, or gives me the strategy that moves it out of my way.

I know that there is more, simply because my God is fathomless, bottomless and exceedingly abundantly far above whatever I could ask or think, so…I pray and praise and wait to see His Glory.

I am no longer disappointed, because it is not a matter of if it will happen, it is a matter of when. So I am content to stay there until it does. It is like waiting for a bus. If you are not sure if it will come the time seems endless, but if you are positive that it must come, then you simply wait until is does.

Blessings,

Pastor Jack Valentino

It’s All About You, Lord! http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=91 Tue, 01 May 2012 04:00:08 +0000 http://house-of-the-lord.org/?p=91 God is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle! How many of you have heard this spoken before?

This comes under the heading of “Cleanliness is next to godliness”, or “God helps those who help themselves”. None of these are in the word.

That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word. That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle, or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless]. (Ephesians 5:26,27)

We have accepted that word as though we had to cleanse ourselves to be without spot or wrinkle. It is not saying that at all. The word is saying that Jesus is the one that will sanctify us, and wash us with the water of His word and present us to Himself a bride without spot or wrinkle.

I find that the mystery of the word is being revealed more and more. No one has changed the wording in these verses I looked in several translations, and they all say it the same way. I believe that God is starting to remove the veil from His children’s eyes. He is not allowing them to simply listen to what someone else has to say about the word, but rather He is showing His children what the word actually says.

Side Note: Did Adam get a wife for himself? No God said that it is not good that a man be alone, alone, all one, so he put the man to sleep and from within the man he created woman. Then God presented her to Adam. The second Adam came and in 33 years He could not find a bride without spot or wrinkle. So He died for us so that the water of His word could wash our sins, spots and wrinkles away. Jesus is the word and water gushed from His side to cleanse us as the blood set us free. As Eve was the Bride that God presented to the first Adam, so we are the bride that Jesus the second Adam is presenting to Himself.

The new Testament is not about man’s ability to be holy or act holy. It is about man knowing that his works are as filthy rags and that Jesus had to come because it was impossible for any man to live under the law. We can never be good enough, smart enough, rich enough, or holy enough to earn our salvation.

I think that the Amplified version says it best, “O you poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless Galatians! Who has fascinated or bewitched or cast a spell over you, unto whom-right before your very eyes-Jesus Christ (the Messiah) was openly and graphically set forth and portrayed as crucified? Let me ask you one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit as the result of obeying the law and doing its works, or was it by hearing the message of the Gospel and believing it? Was it from observing a law of rituals or from a message of faith? Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun your new life so spiritually with the Holy Spirit, are you now reaching perfection by dependence on the flesh?” (Galatians 3:1-3)

The Lord is starting to reveal to those who have ears that it is no longer the works of man that will get the job accomplished, but by His spirit. When we think that we can do this thing by acting good and doing the right thing, if we can appear to be righteous outwardly, pride quickly sneaks in and we are then trying to tell others how they should act, what they should or shouldn’t be doing. Look at me I’m holy follow me and do as I do, speak as I speak and you will get to heaven. Don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t dance, don’t wear makeup, don’t breathe.

The Pentecostal movement started out in this country as freedom because of the Holy Spirit and then man got a hold of it and twisted it into a Pharisaical legalistic mass of bondage, that was no different then the religious groups in Jesus’ day. The church today doesn’t even realize that with the forming of the denominations we have become the Sadducees and the Pharisees of this church age. Denomination means: Divide and number God never intended us to divide and number ourselves. He wanted us to follow Christ and be His bride, not see how we could separate ourselves from one another.

We must be willing to be cleansed by God, and instead of doing for the Lord we must allow God to do it through us. We cannot even qualify ourselves. Why, because we are already qualified!

We are going to read this in the second dimension when I point at you say your first name out loud.

For this reason from the day that we heard about you ______ we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you ______ with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10, And we pray this in order that you______ may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. 11 being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you______ may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father who has QUALIFIED YOU________ to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13 For He has rescued you______ from the dominion of darkness and brought you into the kingdom of the Son He loves, 14 in whom You______ have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:9-14)

So where is that condemnation? “There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)

How many of you here feel as though you have disappointed God?

At any moment you can have a new beginning. All you have to do is decide to allow the Lord to change you. There truly is a formula to having the peace and prosperity of God in your life. It’s really very simple, but it needs to be worked at, until you get it down into your spirit.

Four Steps to Peace and Prosperity in God

  1. REPENT: This doesn’t mean turn away from as it did in the OT, It means to allow God to change your mind. “I have messed up Lord, I want to do what is right, but it is impossible for me. In my weakness is Your strength. Change me Lord to be what you would have me be.”
  2. FORGIVE OR DON’T TAKE OFFENSE: If you do take offense say ouch, and then put it to death on the cross. You cannot offend a humble person. If you do take offense, hurt, anger bitterness, unforgiveness then pride has sneaked in the back door and God can only push down the proud, but He exalts the humble.
  3. PRAISE: Praise Him in every circumstance, even when you don’t want to, even when you don’t have an ounce of praise left in you, even when it doesn’t make sense to praise, even when you are angry with God.
  4. PROCLAIM HIS PROMISES UNTIL THEY ARE MANIFEST IN THE NATURAL REALM OF LIFE: Jeremiah 1:12 says that He is ready, anxious, vigilant, and excited to perform His word, but He must hear it coming from our mouth. Every word that comes out of our mouth is a seed that will produce a harvest, so what are you planting? Are you speaking His word one minute and then picking your own pocket the next with a negative seed?
